Cockburn Netball Club prides itself on acknowledging the efforts of its players, coaches, umpires and volunteers.

There are many awards which we present each year including:

Karen Lauritsen Trophy - Senior Club Person of the Year

Senior Club Person of the Year – Established 1989

This perpetual trophy has been named after one the club’s members who died suddenly, Karen Lauristen. The trophy is presented to a senior club member (player or official) for their outstanding service to the club who provides a positive role model for the club. Marilyn Williams Umpiring Award

This club award is named after one of the club’s Life Members, Marilyn Williams. The umpire of the year will be an umpire who represents the Cockburn Netball Club as a fair umpire, who upholds the rules of the game and umpires to the best of their ability. They will use their skills as an umpire to aid others within the club through umpiring extra games, filling in for sick umpires and improving younger player’s knowledge of the rules of the game. The umpire of the year is not necessarily the best umpire but is one that is reliable and willing to volunteer their time to improve, either through courses or seeking further practice at training or with the Umpiring Coordinator.

President's Trophy

The Coach of the Year Award, formally named the President’s Trophy is one of the Clubs Perpetual Trophies. The criteria for coach of the year are a coach who is committed, mentors other coaches, promotes and cultivate the game of netball. More importantly encourages members in the game of Netball, showing all members can have the opportunity to reveal their maximum potential.
